Photorealistic 3D product images for 350+ annual product launches
Specsavers want photorealistic 3D product images for their more than 350 annual product launches. Even with short deadlines, we deliver thousands of impeccable visuals to inspire their customers.
Specsavers launch more than 350 products each year and need multiple product images for each pair of glasses. Unfortunately, the Brand Creative Team faced challenges regarding the quality of the many 3D product images. So they went looking for a partner that could match the quality they sought.
We deliver thousands of website-ready 3D product visuals. Despite short deadlines and a constant flow of new frames, Specsavers get photorealistic 3D images of their glasses on time, so they're ready to inspire their customers on all websites and beyond.

Specsavers has been a family-run business for 40 years, working together with store partners to provide the best value optometry, audiology and other healthcare services for customers.
350+ product launches each year = thousands of product images
Specsavers launches more than 350 new pairs of glasses every year. Each asset is available in six sizes, all showcased from four different angles on their websites. And that's not including the 360-degree videos and visuals where a model wears the glasses for inspiration. That adds up to a tremendous amount of assets needed for the websites and the more than 2,800 stores in 11 countries.
Previously, Specsavers had a CGI agency create all these assets, but the Brand Creative Team faced significant challenges due to quality concerns.
Digital twins didn’t accurately represent the real-life products
Lily Meale is the Content Asset Manager at Specsavers. She was still new in her role when the team started facing challenges regarding the quality of the many product images.
“We received customer complaints and returned glasses because the frames didn’t match their expectations from the websites. Unfortunately, our suppliers were not able to deliver the photorealistic assets we were after. So, we started looking for a new partner to match the quality we needed. A colleague of mine had worked with Cadesign previously, and she was confident they would be the perfect match for our expectations. So, we set up a test project to see what they could do."
Perfect recreation of frames

Photorealistic CGI checks all boxes
Specsavers wanted to make sure we were up for the job right from the start, so they sent us two of their most challenging frames to digitalize. Within two weeks, they got the results back, and there was no doubt in Lily Meale's mind:

Speedy delivery of impeccable 3D product images
With the ongoing launches of new pairs of glasses, there was no time to rest on our laurels. The launch of a Northern Europe exclusive range of eyewear was just around the corner, but Specsavers didn't have the high-quality product images they needed to be ready.
"We already had the visuals approved and delivered from our previous CGI partner. However, after seeing what Cadesign could do for us, we wanted to redo a large part of the range with them. With less than a month before the launch of this exclusive range, we knew from our singular test with Cadesign that they could handle the task. We hadn’t even signed contracts yet, but they created new assets with the dedication and care we’d expect from any external partner to treat our products.
Within two working weeks, we had the range of 10 different frames completely re-rendered, including the time it took for Cadesign to receive the glasses at their office.” Lily Meale shares. She continues with:
"Not only did they deliver excellent visuals quickly, but the assets were also already website-ready, which was exactly what we needed with a short deadline for our internal marketing activities and the product launch. That was an incredible feeling and improved the morale of the whole team. We felt we were ready to deliver assets to the markets that we could truly be proud of. And since then, the quality of the 3D product images we receive has been impeccable and unquestionable."
Assets that Specsavers can be proud of

Specsavers inspire customers by adding digital eyewear to models
We create new 3D product visuals for Specsavers daily, but on top of that, several other projects are taking place where the requirements are just as high.
"We want to inspire our customers by showing them how a pair of glasses looks when someone wears them. So, we created the Frame-on-Face initiative with our previous CGI supplier, where they added the glasses to an image of a model. But again, the visuals didn't look realistic. We restarted the project with Cadesign, and the results are stunning. It's spot on, and it looks like we photographed the model wearing the frames, even though Cadesign adds them digitally to an existing headshot of a model we photographed years ago. And that's just the baseline of everything they do. It's beautiful and perfect straight away. That's what's so great about our collaboration. The complete trust that they will do their CGI magic no matter what the project is." says Lily Meale.
